What is the difference between Business Basic, Standard and Premium?
Business Basic — web and mobile Office apps with hosted email and 1 TB of storage. Business Standard — adds the fully installed desktop Office apps with offline use; Microsoft recommends it for most businesses. Business Premium — everything in Standard plus integrated security and device management.
Is there a user limit on Microsoft 365 Business plans?
Yes. The Business plans are designed for organisations with up to 300 users, and the cap applies across the whole Business family combined — for example, 250 Premium seats leave only 50 seats available across Basic and Standard. Larger organisations should use Microsoft 365 Enterprise plans (E3, E5). Talk to us and we will size it correctly.
Should I choose Microsoft 365 Apps for business or Business Basic?
If you only need the desktop apps (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and cloud storage, Apps for business is Microsoft's recommended pick. If you also need Microsoft-hosted business email and Teams, choose Business Basic instead.
